The dragon sits by the side of the road, watching those who pass. Beware lest he devour you. We go to the Father of Souls, but it is necessary to pass by the dragon (Cyril of Jerusalem). This motto prefaces Flannery O'Connor's book A Good Man is Hard to Find. The heroes of their stories are broken people, whose motivations are surprising and, against the background of events, very ordinary, such as the way to the city, the sale of a Bible or the repair of a car, Flannery O'Connor reveals to us many unexpected “dragon corners” of human beings.
