Klicpera Theatre in Hradec Králové is a respected professional theatre with more than 130 years of tradition. There has been a professional troupe here since 1949, though the theatre achieved its greatest success after 1989. It received the Theatre of the Year award in the Czech Republic four times on the basis of the prestigious survey from the Alfréd Radok Foundation. Klicpera Theatre was at the birth of the Theatre of European Regions festival.
